Bashō

Kamon Database – Bashō

Figure: Musa basjoo (Japanese banana). 芭蕉

The Bashō mon generally depicts the leaves of the Japanese banana tree, but interestingly enough never the fruit itself. Bashō insignias have an obscure origin, and were probably first designed at the end of the 19th century. To our knowledge, no family use this kamon anymore.
