Kamon Database – Fune

Figure: boat. 船

The Fune mon is said to have been granted by Emperor Godaigo to Nawa Nagatoshi, a warrior from the Hōki province. From that time onward, it started to disseminated throughout the country. At first, people considered the Fune mon a high rank insignia. However, as time went by, low rank samurais and even commoners (whose work was related to sailing) started to use this emblem.
